Bangor Photographic Society’s annual exhibition officially opened at Bangor Carnegie Library on 22 August, showcasing a diverse collection of photographs highlighting the talent, creativity and individual styles of its members.

The exhibition was officially opened by Mr Alex Easton MP, who attended the event and toured the exhibition with members of the club. Alex took a keen interest in the wide variety of photographs on display and was particularly impressed by the quality and diversity of the work, selecting several of his favourite images.

Following the tour, the club’s Chair, Leanne Simpson, thanked Alex for taking time out of his busy schedule to attend and support the club. She also expressed the club’s sincere appreciation to Daniel Brown, Branch Manager, and the staff of Bangor Carnegie Library for once again providing a venue and continuing to support the club and its members.

The exhibition features a wide range of photographic genres, including architecture, nature, landscapes, abstracts and many other subjects, offering something to interest everyone. Visitors are warmly invited to call into Bangor Carnegie Library over the coming weeks to enjoy the photographs and see the work produced by local photographers and pick up a leaflet to the beginners course starting in September if you are interested.

The club would also like to thank the local businesses who kindly helped promote the exhibition by displaying flyers: Park Life, Coffee Cure at the Walled Garden, Heritage Centre, Visitors Centre at Market House, Kodak Express, and Doodle and Bloom. Their support is greatly appreciated.

Not forgetting to thank the members of the club who volunteered to put the exhibition altogether.

New Members Welcome

Bangor Photographic Society welcomes anyone with an interest in photography, whether experienced or just starting out. Prospective members are invited to come along to an informal club evening at 100 Ward Avenue, Bangor, on Wednesday evenings from 7:50pm to 10:00pm.

Visitors can attend for a couple of complimentary weeks, giving them the opportunity to meet members, see what the club is about and enjoy an informal evening of photography, with no obligation to join.

Everyone is very welcome, and we look forward to meeting you.
